Hello! It's great to see the forum up and running again. There's not too many places to talk shop, so to speak, in our hobby.
Recently I've taken up knitting and am working on a shawl from a civil war era pattern. So far it's been easy to work and for me that's saying a lot!
Any other knitters out there?

I do knit but have yet to undertake a period project.

I have also just recently taken up knitting and made a lovely shawl. It was great for those early spring re-enactments when it can be quite chilly in the morning. However, what I would really like to learn is how to make (knit) socks. Anyone know where I can find out how to do so or how the women of 1861 would have done so.
