Whats wrong with Lute?

Someone on the scene please find out whats wrong with the silver fox.. I am concerned for him, and for the team.

Everything has been rumor thus far...there really has not been any factual information discussed. But from what has been seen Lute is not facing a medical issue and it is a personal issue that he needs time to deal with. From what is said he will be back, hopefully soon, and that he just needs some privacy as he deals with what most likely is a family issue. Many are opening that he will be back by NAU, the season opener.

But as we are all huge supporters of Lute, as always, in Lute We Trust, and to him we send our prayers that everything goes well for him. There is no reason to doubt Lute saying it is not medical related, and we are good for now with O'Neill at the helm.

We will give updates/rumors as we hear of them.

Another Big-10 team loses to another D-II school in an exhibition game as Ohio State lost the other night. It probably wouldn't hurt to have Lute back by NAU but I think we'll be alright in the interim.

We do have one of the toughest non-conference schedules and the Pac-10 is far and away the best conference the earlier we get him back though the better as I would hate to be tinkering with rotations against the likes of Memphis and Kansas.

The article brought up a point I hadn't even though of. How will his absense effect the recruiting, and letter signees. Im fairly certain that O'Neill is capable of being a head coach and the current team will be ok. assuming things get better for Olson, his triumphant return could ignite a spark and the team will catch fire. you guys remember that 9 game win streak last year? Im thinking if we can go undefeated going into conference play, we will be in GREAT shape.

If we remain undefeated going into conference play, I'll sprout wings and fly.

I'm just as excited as the next guy about the upcoming basketball season, but given Arizona's youth, lack of depth in the front court and monster schedule, I think you need to manage your expectations a little bit, Justin. Or else you're going to be very disappointed.

There's one thing that lures in recruits more than anything and thats winning. One of the main selling points for recruits is there ability to make the jump to the NBA. Not only is O'Neil a former NBA coach but if you click on the Cats in the Pros or whatever link off the rauraur main page you'll see not only are they making the jump they're dominating. Another selling point is the opportunity to play on primetime tv and last time I checked it seems like once a week we're on the national stage.

Fact of the matter is that its a personal not health related problem. Look at Bob Huggins he's got tons of personal problems from being a fat jalopy to being a drunk and he still lures in recruits. Lute's not Majerus that had to turn down a job at USC cause his health wouldn't allow him. Kevin Love is going to **** himself when he comes to Tucson. The kid calls Wooden like once a week and when he realizes he could have played for a legend he might fall to his knees and cry.

rumor has it lute is taking a leave to take care of a divorce from his wife. how true? no clue. all i know is that ever since he married her, the cats havent had much to pride themselves on. i miss you lute.
