Your bass sound on Queen of Cups
Hello Kai, I have now realized what my actual question is regarding fretless sound. I love my Turner 5-string fretless bass sound. It is unique. But now I am going to buy another bass in order to widen tonal possibilities. This bass will also be fretless in either a 5 or 6 string model. I want a bass that sounds like what you play on : Queen of Cups. I very much want the lush, rich, organic/acoustic sound you both get. I am not interested in the more metallic side of the sound spectrum. Nor do I need anything fancy, although I am willing to pay whatever it costs to get the bass that has the sound I want. If I want to get a bass that gets the sound like yours, what should I buy? Also, what other factors affect the quality of the sound: To what degree is it in the bass………. the pickups…………. the preamp…………… the strings etc. I know of course that it is a combination. Do you add effects or processing to your sound? How important is the amplifier to the final result? I know that set up and playing style are important also. However, what I am most focused on is the bass/pickups/preamp/strings. I really, really appreciate you taking time to answer my questions. Thank you for the inspiration you bring to the world of bass. Jibreel I also emailed you this ? |
