Re: carbine match

The match went well. the targets and stands are still in excellent condition. the marksmanship of the shooters was excellent, in only one bullet hitting the stand. 10 shooters participated in the match. everybody had a good time. some shot twice. two shooters actually qualified as NRA LIGHT RIFLE marksman first class in score but would have to complete another run to obtain the class. i recieved nothing but good comments from the shooters about the match and the stages.

as for the match date, i need the board to approve me for another date.

the match consists of any type of moving and reactive targets.

no hollowpoints are allowed.
scopes/optics/lasers classified as open.
any caliber that is allowed on the range is allowed in the match.
no shotshells.
all the stages are timed.
a shooter may have as many magazines/ reloads as nessessary.
barrel length to be 16" min.
must have a stock.
no firearm shall sweep 180.

an NRA Marksmanship Qualification for light rifle or american rifleman will held in each match i run as a test. bring some .22lr ammo and a rifle, if you do not have a .22 then i will let you shoot mine. shooters that qualify as marksman first class and higher will recieve a patch or a certificate. if an expert shoots the qual i(or an RO) will be the witness and file paperwork from the shooter to be listed as distinguished expert. awards will be given out in the general business meeting.

when i hear more from the board i will post a message on the forum.

you must have bought the beretta, please tell me how it shoots.

Re: carbine match

Yep, I bought a CX4 Storm, 9mm that takes 92FS mags, I have not yet taken possession of the gun although I should have it soon. If you want to try one out the range at Bob's has one for rent. I tried out and I liked it.

If you need help setting up or anything let me know I'm really interested in shoot these matches. If you can scedule them at the same time as the Shotgun match I know one of the shooters who comes down from Richmond will be interested in shooting the Carbine match also.
