hagstrom HJ 500..how is it with distortion?
hey guys! i was just wondering if any of you have tried the HJ 500 or 600 through an amp with distortion...just wondering if there is severe feedback or not. cheers! katie |

Best try it in a shop with the effects and amp you'd likely use it with. Depending on how much distortion you want to throw at it, my guess is that if it doesn't feed back uncontrollably it'll sound very muddy. Why the urge to use this particular guitar with distortion? You'd be better off with a Viking or one of those Ibanez semis geared towards the rockabilly crowd. |

Hi katie! Yes sure why not, sounds big and good, just remember to lower the bass a bit on the amp. I Run the HJ500 guitar in to a marshall plexi 50w-4*12. It sounds big and powerful and it got a little more headroom than a viking guitar. Just do it... |

nice! i have a marshall half stack, a 150 tube...im sure it would sound amazing! it is such a beautiful guitar..it looks big and mellow :) |
