here's some pix:
the pickups were switched out with Bill Lawrence ones, but the originals were still in the case.

Interesting sandwiched body. It looks like a tasty cake!

Re: Dating My Super Swede!!

ha ha.. yeah i haven't seen that on other pix of super swedes.. it's the same finish on the front as the back, but when the light catches the front more than the back, you get the "tastykake" effect.

Re: Dating My Super Swede!!

I think it's quite fetching. Saw a 1970s Les Paul today in Denmark St (famous London guitar window-shopping street) with a two-piece body and the join in the top just above the hardware. The effect wasn't quite as nice!

Re: Dating My Super Swede!!

043150 is a '78-80 Swede De Luxe, no. 150 of 500

Hagstrom had to add the 053 as a prefix for some business reason

cheers

Re: Dating My Super Swede!!

thank you very much..
man i've gotten to play it over the last day or so and it is SOOO nice.. the strings are like millimeter over the frets the whole way down the board..

think i'll keep the bill lawrence pickups in there for now, sounds really warm & nice.. but if i flick the coil taps, you get a nice jangly fender sound.. nice to have those options..

i put strap locks on it too.. cause it weighs a TON!!
