My new Hagstrom. Lots of pics.

Picked this baby up at a garage sale.

The guy told me he bought it brand new 40 years ago and gave up playing after a few lessons. and into the closet she went.

What do you think?

Re: My new Hagstrom. Lots of pics.

Hi Jack,
Congratulations. This guitar seems to be in a really good condition. From what I read as serial number it's build in 1966. The only weird thing is that if he as only used it for some lessons why did he exchange the tuners?
Best Regards,

Re: My new Hagstrom. Lots of pics.

I asked myself the same question. But the guitar is in great shape.

The original tuners were in the guitar case when I got it, so I guess I could swap them back on. Although I'll probable leave it as it is.

This baby still has the original strap pegs. No cracks!

Any offers on the guitar?

The strap knobs are the other weird thing. They were used on the earlier models but I thought the Hagstrom I with the squared pickups had already the metal ones ...

Re: My new Hagstrom. Lots of pics.

Nice! Although I'd put the Van Ghent tuners back on. These look like some generic squier tuners I had on a cheap strat back in the day.

Anyone see this pic of Neil Young playing a black Hagstrom I on the Haskins Hagstroms site. Apparently the guitar is key to a 'new sound' he's trying out on his current seventy-five-quid-a-blooming-ticket tour.

I have a lilac one of these, with rounded pickups. It's too fancy to play live though :-(
