Vintage Swede Nut String-Spacing Question

I was wondering if anyone had the original measurements for the nut. I've got a replacement nut that just wore out, but it's not the original and never was that great. I wanted to see if I could get graphtech to make one precut for it, but I need the measurements on it, per the site below.

Re: Vintage Swede Nut String-Spacing Question

I actually have a similar problem because my Swede I inherited actually is missing the nut completely.

Out of curiousity, which precut nut did you use? I read that the Swede's use Gibson spacing, so I was thinking of getting a precut one of those and seeing if it works. Are the graph tech ones significantly better?

Re: Vintage Swede Nut String-Spacing Question

I tried contacting that guy, but I haven't heard anything back yet. Swedishfish, do you think you could do the measurements for me? I'd be most appreciative (or if anyone else with a correct spec'ed nut in could check). Is it normal Gibson spacing or what?

Re: Vintage Swede Nut String-Spacing Question

I measure the nut of one of my Swedes and came up with the following results as per graph techs sheet.

Lenght = 42.5 mm
Height = 7 mm (middle) 6mm(Low E) 5.5 mm (High E)
Width = 5.5 mm
E-to-E Spring Spacing = 36 mm

Be aware that these measurements coul change very slightely from Year to Year.
My measurement are from a 1973 Swede Serial Nr.869128.

Cheers

Re: Vintage Swede Nut String-Spacing Question

Awesome, you rock. Mine is a 74' so it should be the same I would expect. Hopefully, if Swedishfish's is similar to ours that will work for him too.
