Why do people part out guitars?

I find this irritating. Like the vintage red Viking currently up on Ebay. The auction says "there are no parts". Well, yes there are parts, they are scattered across a dozen other auctions from the same seller. What's the point? More money? It seems like a waste to me.

The only thing they don't seem to have is the bridge. Yes, it is a real waste.

Yes, considering that they probably won't sell all the parts and will end up throwing some of them away.

its all about the money, they think they can make more... bottom line, some people just don't get, they are destroying a part of history.

Looks like he would get more if it was all together, even if it is missing a piece or two

Ah the bridge is there. All that's missing is the knobs and pickguard (these are replacements, quite like the look of those metal-skirted knobs actually!)
If I didn't already have a red viking I would consider buying-up all the parts to put back together :-(
