Report

Braved the wind for a few hours on Saturday with my two sons. Water temps in the creeks ranged from 47 to 49. Caught two fish, both were cookie-cutter 10 and a half pounds, 27 inches. On the bright side; a 27 inch fish used to weight 8 pounds. Every fish I have caught since fall has been very fat. I think the recent explosion of threadfins might be the reason.

Re: Report

Old School,
Did you catch them on flat line or down rods? Water temp looks like it’s starting to climb up there a little bit. Won’t be long for the spring fishing.
Thanks for the report

Re: Report

Crawdad,

Planer boards, on the bank. Large Gizzard shad, no weight. I know some guys were killing them bucktailing a few weeks ago, but they were smaller fish. The fish have been in the creeks, but they are staying in the creek channels during the colder days(along with the bait). Once we get several warm days in a row, they move up shallower.

Re: Report

It would be cool if there was a way to up-load photos on this site.

Thanks for the report, Old School. Where were you able to catch bait?
Has anyone caught bait around Nutbush Bridge? Hoping to go this weekend.
I agree, it would be nice to be able to see some pictures....

Re: Report

I have contacted the webmaster, and will let you know when I hear back....I have inquired about doing something similar to the "catch of the day" pictures that the same webmaster hosts for the Kerrlake.com website (including an archive page where the past pictures reside).

Thanx Baitbucket

Re: Report

Baitbucket, it's actually on the Nutbush Creek arm of Kerr where the buoys are labeled with alphabet-it's below "P" so it's way up the creek which is "A" at its closest point to the dam.
