Bait

I am heading out for my yearly trip to Weldon this weekend. I was wondering if anyone would be nice enough to share a spot or two on Buggs were I could stop on the way and catch some bait to fish with. I am not going to show up with a truck full of tanks, just the one in my boat. 8-10 bucks a dozen for herring will quickly deplete your fishing fund along with gas/fuel prices. Thanks for any help.

Re: Bait

DW Sorry no would respond in a timely manner. I know you through old school Smedley. Give him a call he might have some for you guys. But if you are going to catch it I would suggest Island creek dam before daylight with a light. Its better if you anchor and try to draw the bait to you. The other place is nutbush bridge not sure of the rising water will affect this place, but if it does just put you boat in on either side and throw around the bridge. First sign of light is usually good. Hope this helps and you tear em up @ the Roanoke.
