Life’s Dance
As a river flows into ripples of rings
A baby bird discovers how to use its wings
And as a baby cub takes ifs first step
An old widower finds himself out of debt
The world can be a peaceful place
Delicate and simple, kind of like lace
But if we all, including nature, could dance to the same beat of a bass
We would all be able to recognize the same face
The face that we see when we gaze up at the sky
The face that gives us the feeling that we can fly
The face that let’s us know when to let go and say goodbye
The face that let’s us let out a long depressing sigh
And then there is the face that we see when we die
Letting us know that we did everything that we could
But then there is always that should
What we should have done and what we shouldn’t have done
But then we remember all the fun
The fun that we had while we were growing old
And the fun that we had while we were young and bold
But now there is no looking back
We have all of our prized possessions packed into one sack
I just wish we all had one second chance
Because then we would be able to dance life’s dance |
