Quite unexpected the Chris Shultz Memorial 5k Walk/Run has become a favorite July 4th weekend tradition. It honors a young lady who was loved as a person and educator to all those who met her in the little community of Millville.
Last evening at 7 pm it was a bit humid but not too oppressive. The rolling hills are a challenge but not anything that we have not dealt with before. This community celebration of Chris' life is a small slice of the goodness of America.
Thanks to Dave and Kay lou Case for organizing the lasting tribute to their daughter and thanks to the Sick family who does so much.. for this race. It is always good to see George, Frank and Jeff from InstaResults at a race as they do a profesional job. Old friends attend this race and I have to mention Roger Peterman and Pete Gstalder who are pals from the old days. They either run with or cheer on family members.
If you have not tried this race then I highly recommend you look for it next year.
