My son turned ten in June and this past weekend ran the valley 5 k in Conyngham in 20:58 ( a pretty challenging course with hills). He is not a runner and, in fact, has not run three consecutive miles since he ran the race last year at age 9 with a time of 22:03. I have run local races for about 15 years and have never seen a child this young with comparable times. I was wondering if his race time this year may have set some sort of record for a youth under 11 participating in NEPA races. Any thoughts?
