Commander John Prichard is at the tail end of a very prestigious life and it is not boding well for him. This once highly decorated astronaut has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimers. He is widowed and embarrassed by the fact that his two grown children constantly have to remind him of this. On the eve before a transferral to a higher care facility, John breaks free of the hospital so that he might go and witness a rare solar eclipse atop a mountain where he used to take his children camping. Witnessing this eclipse without the aid of a tinted visor leaves John blinded in the throws of dementia as he attempts to navigate his way back down the mountain. While his children and the authorities quickly attempt to recover him, John is guided by interdimensional beings that inhabit the memories of his loved ones.
