A New York woman visits India in an attempt to study the Hindu religion and becomes the victim of a terrorist attack.
Carolyn Phillips, a young woman in her 30s, lives in New York (can be any city). She researches the Hindu religion in an effort to eventually convert to Hinduism. Her studies take her to India.
In India, Carolyn becomes the victim of a terrorist attack. It leaves her critically injured. The Indian government is determined to hunt down these terrorists. As Carolyn fully recovers, the terrorists plan an attack on a large hotel which is fully booked at the height of a holiday. Carolyn's boyfriend and parents will be in that hotel on that holiday. The final scenes involve aerial dogfights between the terrorists' planes and the Indian air force. The terrorists are eventually crushed. And Carolyn achieves her dream of conversion to Hinduism.
This is a character-driven story with a strong human-relations element, and also involves much action.
