Black Lives Matter. Isaiah vows to get justice for his murdered friend Toby.
JUSTICE FOR TOBY
Isaiah Washington, a former slave-turned sharecropper, stops suddenly when his horse-drawn plow runs upon what he thinks is a smooth round rock. He bends over to pick up the object and discovers to his horror that it’s a human skull.
Isaiah also discovers that one of the skeletal feet has two missing toes, telltale signs that the remains are those of his old friend Toby Jackson that had gone mysteriously missing 13 years earlier.
Isaiah vows to get justice for his murdered friend with the help of his former Boss and slave owner Daniel Smith, but it’s an uphill struggle to say the least. The hated but devout churchgoing murder suspect Jake Edwards gets his KKK “Brothers” (two of whom work in law enforcement) involved in trying to intimidate the court system, the witness to the crime and even the sheriff. A black family’s barn is burned down, their little cabin’s windows are shot out and their children are terrorized.
