Confronted with the prospect of becoming a university drop-out following a public defamation from which he has not yet recovered, former socialite and "Fresher of the Year", Archie Goodwin, is presented with a peculiar offer by his academic supervisor to join an illicit research project of which may just allow him to graduate after all.
