The Master Craft Maxmum FIixed/Plunge Router (by Canadian Tire) is a surprisingly good router. It has both plung and fixed base, will take both 1/4 and 1/2"router bits and is 2.5hp. It carries a 5 year warantee. When it goes on sale I've seen it between 124 and 114 dollars depending on the promotion.

Had mine for 3.5 years of moderate use and it is holding up well. Not a Porter Cable but at about 1/3 the cost it is a nice unit.
