Is the 18volt model too heavy for woodworking??? Cordless Drills are like golf clubs. You can play 18 holes with just a putter ( or a driver) and in woodworking the same applies. I have both 18 volt and 12 volt drills, Angle Drills and small cordless screwdrivers to get into tight spots. If I had to pick one all around drill I would go with the Makita 18volt li-ion, although it is pricey, it is worth every penny because it is light and compact.
