I am a tremendous sports fan and, as a Philadelphian by birth and raising, I adore my Phillies. When they won the World Series in 1980, one player epitomized the team spirit -- Tug McGraw, father of Tim McGraw. Today, on the 28th anniversary of our Susie's death from inoperable, cancerous brain tumors, we learned that Tugger is suffering from the same malady and is in intensive care in a Tampa, Florida hospital. Many of the people interviewed on local TV news stated that "he's so young" to have this: only 58. Susie wasn't yet 57 when she died of it. And for Tug to get this on the same day she died is so beyond the pale that I cannot believe it.
