About the Courtyard Book Club -- The Gospel of Holy Mother

We are in the process of forming an online book club, beginning here in Holy Mother's Courtyard. The first book is "The Gospel of Holy Mother", a series of conversations with Mother as recorded by her devotees.

The purpose of reading a book together is so we may consider aspects of Mother's life and teachings. What is their meaning for us? How might they apply today, helping as we try to spiritualize our own everyday life?

Please feel free to join in the discussion at any time.

Also, if someone would like to volunteer to start the discussion and post "reading assignments", your service will be welcome. There is no reason this cannot be done by taking turns. (I know, in my own case I cannot commit to an added on-going responsibility but will be happy to "lead" from time to time.)

We have been looking for sources where you can order The Gospel of Holy Mother. If you are near a Vedanta Center anywhere in the world belonging to the Ramakrishna/Sarada tradition, this might be a source. So far we have found only two sources for online mail orders:

The Vedanta Catelog, located in Hollywood, California, USA

Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, India (publisher)

The Vedanta Catalog also lists an interesting CD E-book Library that PC users might like. I would love it myself, but I use a Macintosh. I have inquired, and it definitely doesn't work on Mac, I'm told. The CD link is

Courtyard Book Club -- Message Posting Suggestions

In order to identify Book Club discussions it wiill be helpful to always title the Subect line as "Courtyard Book Club -- (Subject)"

Try to keep each discussion within its thread, as with any topic discussion.

However, sometimes it may be helpful or necessary to take a topic arising within a Book Club discussion to "another corner of the Courtyard" for further consideration. In this case, please feel free to start a new topic. :)
