It is said that after Mother’s mortal remains had been cremated, Mahapurush Maharaj declared before the assembled sadhus and devotees, “All over the country fifty-one pilgrimage centres came up, each one hallowed by the presence of one single part of Sati’s body. Today the entire body of Sati has mingled with the dust of Belur Math. Just consider then, how sacred Belur Math is as a centre for pilgrimage!”
