Mother As I Saw Her – Swami Saradeshananda
A Scene on a Pithey Sankranti Day – 03

There the Mother sits on her cot, her feet dangling, and her gold-bangled hands – the hands that bestow boon and fearlessness to Jivas – resting on her lap. She is wearing a white sari with a fine red border. Her long and loose locks flow down the surface of that milk-white Sari, revealing a charming contrast of colours. With voice dripping nectar, she addresses the boys, “Come, my children, here are flowers for you. Perform your rites quickly. It is already late. I have to serve you snacks.”
