Mother As I Saw Her – Swami Saradeshananda
A Scene on a Pithey Sankranti Day – 06

After the worship, the Mother is going to serve breakfast to the boys seated on the portico in front of her room. The breakfast consists of fruits and sweets, offered to the Master and a preparation called Chitui Pithey, made of pasted rice and Kalai pulses, stuffed with coconut gratings, cooked in steam and eaten with treacle. The Mother is sitting beside the boys, talking to them pleasantly as they partake of the breakfast.
