A Scene on a Pithey Sankranti Day – 08

The boy, however, relished the Pitheys very much, and while consuming them, says to the Mother, “Mother, we too have such Pitheys at our place. We eat quite a lot of these. At our place, they first heat to proper consistency the coconut gratings mixed with treacle over a fire in a pan, and use it as the filling for this Pithey. I like these very much. I shall certainly do full justice to them.” The Mother is pleased at this and gives them another helping of it. After breakfast they go out to have a Darsan of Goddess Simhavahini and make a round of the village.
