Mother As I Saw Her – Swami Saradeshananda
Nalini-Didi’s Pollution Phobia – 05

Every one in the house is now asleep, and there is perfect silence. The Mother now gets up, and addressing Nalini in her sweet voice says, “My child, listen to me. Why are you putting yourself to needless suffering? Why stay in the verandah outside in this cold night? Wash your hands and feet and come in. Have your food and go to sleep.” Those sympathetic words of the Mother caught the ears of those who had not yet fallen asleep. Presently the Mother herself starts lamenting, “O, What a pity! Nalini is so young. She has an undeveloped mind. That is why she gets into temper for little things and makes others annoyed with her.” Again and again the Mother says in a sorrowful voice, “What a pity! Nalini’s intellect is undeveloped. That is why she falls into moods and fits of anger.”
