Mother As I Saw Her – Swami Saradeshananda
Brahmacharin and Sannyasin Disciples – 01

Many a fortunate one has become blessed by receiving Brahmacharya and Sannyasa from her. Even on those occasions there would be no special ceremony or rite observed. After praying to the Master, the Mother would initiate them into the Order by giving to the Brahmacharins white clothes, and to the Sannyasins ochre ones. Of course the Sannyasins would have their heads shaven before the rite. At Jayrambati when a son was initiated into Brahmacharya, he asked, “How long will I have to fulfil its vows?” The Mother answered him at once with a firm voice, “As long as there is life in the body.”
