Mother As I Saw Her – Swami Saradeshananda
The Mother at Vrindavan

After Sri Ramakrishna left his body, the Mother went to Vrindavan with some devotees and stayed there for some time. There her sorrow-laden heart got pacified somewhat, and she lost herself in austere Sadhana and Bhajan. It was here that a beginning was made of her bestowing ‘especial grace’ on aspirants. Commanded by Sri Ramakrishna in a superconscious vision, she gave formal initiation to Swami Yogananda. Henceforth, the current of her grace flowed, constantly increasing in volume and satisfying the thirst for self-knowledge of countless men and women. Many a sinner was drawn to the feet of the ever-forgiving ‘mother’, who, after cleansing them of their dirt and dust, showed them the way to the realm of Ananda.
