Mother As I Saw Her – Swami Saradeshananda
The Incident of Tice cooked in Clarified Butter – 2

The Mother did not like anybody offering a higher price than the current one for milk in the hope of getting it extra pure. She used to say that this way the milkman would only be tempted to dilute the milk with water and get more money. By wealthier people paying higher prices, the cost of commodities would go up and poor men would suffer. Buying more, simply because one has more money, causes jealousy also. She used to caution her children about these, and if somebody had bought something at a higher price, she would ask him not to broadcast it to others.
