20. The Four Women Companions of the Mother– 1

1. The revered Golap-Ma had taken refuge at the Master’s feet when sorrow had overwhelmed her on the loss of her only daughter. She had been mentioned in the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna as the ‘bereaved Brahmani’. In later life she lived at the Udbodhan, taking shelter with the Holy Mother. It was at that time that the writer has the privilege of her Darsan. Just as she had reverence and devotion for the Holy Mother, considering her as the very Mother of the Universe, she could at the same time look upon her as her own ‘daughter’, pour out love and affection from the bottom of her heart, and engage herself in looking after her and serving her in every way.
