Early Life - 10
It appears that at that time some sort of guardian angel kept her company. Reminiscing about her early years, she once said to a disciple: ‘A young girl resembling me used to move with me and help me in my work. We had great fun together. But she disappeared at other people’s approach. This experience continued till I was ten or eleven years old. When I entered a pond to cut grass for the cattle, a girl of my age used to go with me. As I took one bundle to the bank are returned to the water for more grass, I found she had already made another bundle ready for me.’
Now and then Sarada accompanied her brothers to school and gradually learn the alphabet. But her relatives did not encourage her education, since at that time literacy for women was considered quite unnecessary. Sarad, however, was enthusiastic about learning to read.
