Sarada Devi while living at Dakshineswar, made service to the Master and his mother the sole preoccupation of her life. The old lady was so inform that she could hardly move about, and she depended upon her daughter-in-law for everything. Her room was on the second floor, which meant that Sarada often had to run up the stairs at the summons of her mother-in-law. Whatever time Sarada could spend with her husband was of inestimable spiritual significance. That she was able to bear the spiritual radiance of the Master shows her own spiritual depth and maturity.
