One night Yogin-Ma was sleeping in the same bed with Sarada Devi when someone began to play on the flute. Sarada Devi fell into samadhi. Every now and then she laughed. Yogin-Ma woke up and saw the whole thing. Being nervous about touching her at that time, she sat in a corner for a long time before Sarada Devi regained her normal mood.
As we have seen, Sri Ramakrishna did not much encourage outer manifestations of spiritual feeling in Sarada Devi. One day when she complained to the Master that she had not experienced much of such feeling, he said: ‘What will happen if you fall into ecstasy? You will drop your clothes and cut capers. Who will look after your clothes?’ Sri Ramakrishna, himself, often became unconscious in samadhi and his clothes dropped to the ground as he danced.
