From Benares the party went to Ayodhya, the birthplace of Rama and capital of his kingdom. Next they went to Vrindavan. On the way Holy Mother had a vision of Sri Ramakrishna. She was in the habit of wearing on one of her arms Sri Ramakrishna’s gold amulet, which had been given him to allay the burning sensation of his body when he practised intense spiritual discipline at Dakshineswar. In the train she lay down with her arm on the window sill, leaving the amulet exposed. The Master suddenly appeared and, looking at her through the window, said: ‘Why are you keeping the amulet that way? You may lose it.’ After that vision she took it off and kept it in a tin box with the Master’s photograph.
