One day, the village women went to Prasannamayi, a neighbour of Holy Mother’s, who was respected by all for her piety and mature judgement, and asked her views about Holy Mother’s unorthodox conduct. This lady, who had an insight into the personality of Sri Ramakrishna and Holy Mother, said: ‘do not criticize either of them. They possess a divine nature.’ This silenced the villagers at least for a time.
