Melanie Martinez: Cotton Candy Goddess

Lyrics to

"The Bakery"

La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
Pack it, box it, flip it, top it
With a bow, tie ribbon, stop it
Eatin' all the rainbow cookies
Pies are flying through the roof
Not my first pick but I'll do it
Make the cash right so I can move quick
Out this ****hole with a new whip
Cream on top and I'd approve it
Pack it, box it, flip it, top it
(Pack it, box it, flip it, top it)
Pack it, box it, flip it, top it
(Pack it, box it, flip it, top it)
My boss is mother Mary
Catch me slippin' through the concrete
Show no mercy, step right on me
Stiletto death, send me to purgatory
The bakery, tryna make some more
They expect me to stay when I should go
Grab the bag for when they cross the door
It ain't for me to roll it out
It's just for me to raise the dough
Pack it, box it, flip it, top it
With a bow, tie ribbon, stop it
Eatin' all the rainbow cookies
Pies are flying through the roof
All the cherry, the way they all go
Knock 'em down like she a dodgeball
Little mess up and she's angry
One downfall, she blamed the whole team
Pack it, box it, flip it, top it
(Pack it, box it, flip it, top it)
Pack it, box it, flip it, top it
(Pack it, box it, flip it, top it)
The bakery, tryna make some more
They expect me to stay when I should go
Grab the bag for when they cross the door
It ain't for me to roll it out
It's just for me to raise the dough
The bakery, tryna make some more
They expect me to stay when I should go
Grab the bag for when they cross the door
It ain't for me to roll it out
It's just for me to raise the
La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la

Melanie Martinez: Cotton Candy Goddess

Cotton candy is a sugary and colorful food, made of sugar and whipped into various popular shapes such as ice cream cones, clouds, teddy bears and more. They represent entertainment and art, like at the circus- where they are consumed by the members of the audience. Melanie has a history with sweets, and has a bright array of tattoos covering her body, which represent the importance of happy memories especially in beauty and harmony.

Cotton candy was re-invented in 1897 when a dentist named William Morrison collaborated with a confectioner by the name of John C. Wharton. Together, they created a machine that spun heated sugar through a screen into unique designs. You can create any shape or shade with this candy thread, as you can imagine.

Sugar is another symbol of a love goddess, especially on a special day where someone gets to go to a circus, festival or other American festivity. Cotton candy is usually eaten in the spring and summer, mimicing the bright colorful flowers blooming, and colors of the sky in a long day which burst into life, filling the soul with a burst of sugary inspiration.

Sugar blessings & protection eternal
