Re: What do i use to power my axe?

Hi, for low level playing and "decent" sound I offer the following advice:

Buy a POD or something similar and a good earphone set.

This way you can practice at any level and with any sound setting. I do this every day with a ZOOM PS02 and I love it. I can play as loud as I like with any wild distortion or any chyrstal clear setting as I please. There are some good pedal sets that offer about the same.

There is another eadvantage with this: This setup will be able to display the fantastic versatility and lovely sound that you get from Hagstrom´s rare Scandi which you actually own if I´m not mistaken. Plug a second set of earphones in and impress any guitar player. For sound and versatility the Scandi rules.

A regular guitar amp cannot give full justice to the Scandi, the amp is too limited to transmit all the rich overtones coming from a Scandi.

On top of this I want to push for the old 310.

Change all the small capacitors on the PCB and all the tubes. This is one underrated amplifier! Ask David!!! It can be found easily for almost nothing in Sweden. The cost is the restoration, which will amount to some 1500SEK plus labour.

For low level clean or dist sound my Super60 valve amp from Fender does it all at a really cent cost, but it is heavy!

Good luck

Anders

Thinking about getting me a nice amp for my Hagströms, but what should choose? Of course a Hagström amp would be best, but they are a bit hard to get, and to be honest, they don't sound perfect, (that's for the transistors). I don't want to go for a valveamp because i want to be able to play low and still get a deasent sound. Any ideas?
