i just bought a H-8 8-string bass (in Mexico!)

hey guys...
i just found myself a great and cheap sunburst H-8 bass... but how do i know its age?
where can i find correct replacement strings?
anything else i should know about it? it should arrive here next monday or so. thanks and good luck!
