Guitar Player mag & Hagstrom

The Dec 2011 issue has a Hagstrom Ultra Swede on the cover, an editor's pick in the feature story of electrics under $499. Can't hurt the name to make the cover.

In the same issue is an article on St Vincent (Annie Clark), which includes a two page shot of her playing a vintage Swede.

Dweezil Zappa was featured in GP a few months back, no mention of any Hagstrom gear in his rig review. He seemed to be a featured part of Hagstrom's marketing, the omission was interesting.

On a better note, has everyone has noticed Pat Smear's use of Hagstroms on the Foo Fighter's videos? Are those vintage? He has used them in the past.

wow - pretty tight for a live slot on Letterman.

Lastly, rocked my '73 black Swede at a couple of Halloween gigs recently, love that darn guitar.

Just a couple of thoughts, driven by that cover shot.

Pat Smear does have a number of vintage Hags, but my guess - without having seen the videos - is that he is now using recent Hags, Made in China. He used recent models on stage during th last tour, incl a very nice Viking with the Swedish flag painted on it.
