Re: 1959 Hagstrom P46 DeLuxe 90 RED Sparkle top Bigsby

This guitar was in an auction sale the week before, where virtually everything on offer was purchased by dealers, it was sold for £1,062, the members of the public did not get a look in. The original owner wanted it back and the dealer would only sell at the price you mention £2,070, the original owner was the buyer.
There was another Hag in the same auction, this was a hardtail, with a white headstock otherwise same model, that went for £1,300 again to a dealer. Much of what was on offer has apparently again subsequently been offered on ebay.

This guitar is already featured on the website - it used to (and does again) belong to Dave Brewis from The Kane Gang ("Respect Yourself").

He tells me the Bigsby IS original, and this might possibly be so despite the feedback you've had otherwise.

Karl Erik senior told me years ago that they used branded Bigsby for a short while until thy got thier own ones made. Whatever the story, it's a great guitar!
