Re: Hard Case for vintage '74 Swede

Yes, unfortunately the Chinese made, black interior cases are inferior to the Canadian made. I have several brown Swede cases and one black case for my '74 Viking. It smelled bad! Must have been the glue, but it had a strong chemical smell. I aired it out for a couple of weeks, but it still smells faintly. Not as well padded as the brown cases and cheaper feeling handle. I kept it because I got it cheap ($60 shipped). No way I would spend full retail, > $100. I found it impossible to find a Canadian made case. I called two retailers that showed brown cases on their website to verify that the cases were Canadian made, both said yes and then sent Chinese cases anyway. Returned both.
