HIII wiring

Hallo, I have a left hand HIII prototype. Wiring looks ok, but what is a mute switch on my guitar is not. Merely some sort of filter. Switch issue or prototype interest? The guitar was aquired in a complete but poor condition. It looks as it has the original soldering. No amateurs made anything before me.

I have replaced the neck pickup switch to the right. That is wy there is soldering all over. Left and right switches uses different sides of the switch.
Soldering looks similar, but.......
My backplate:

Does anyone see any difference?
The Guitar is now in working condition. Has a bit of wear but has probably not been in much use. Just been stored in a storehouse somewhere.

Roger

Re: HIII wiring

the wiring looks right, the mute switch drops a 12k resistor in parallel, i like it better than the tone cap

Re: HIII wiring

After a short test of the switches, I agree. I prefer the mute switch before the tone switch. But there are a lot of tests before I will know how to use this Guitar.

Re: HIII wiring

Back in the 60's the guitar was needed to double as bass sometimes. The .04 cap was put in to emulate the bass sound.
