Wanted Viking II Deluxe in RED

If anyone has a 60's Hagstrom Viking II Deluxe in RED for sale at a reasonable price, I would be interested. Must be playable and in good shape. I live in Switzerland.

Re: Wanted Viking II Deluxe in RED

I am not sure of your price ceiling, but a Red Viking II in good shape will not be "reasonably priced". Think $2,000 USD minimum. I have still not been brave enough to pony up the cash for those that have been on sale.

There is a Viking I in great shape on ebay right now.

Re: Wanted Viking II Deluxe in RED

yeah the elvis factor shoots the price on these sky high... as arthur says $2000 minimum more likely $2500+ unless you're very lucky

Re: Wanted Viking II Deluxe in RED

I might be prepared to sell my "Elvis Viking", but it won't be cheap, and it is based in the UK. Times are such that I could be convinced, but only VERY sensible offers will be considered.

It has a brand new gold tail and brand new gold pu surrounds. I have the old ones too if wanted.
You can see pictures of it on site of course, http://www.hagstrom.org.uk/viking_has_landed.htm

...and hear it on this page http://www.hagstrom.org.uk/visstory/SamHare.htm

Yes it is a nice example, and it certainly wasn't cheap when I bought it. I'm in no rush, and won't respond to silly offers. Email to main website contact email if interested.

Cheers, David

Thanx for the hint. I've seen this offer.

Re: Wanted Viking II Deluxe in RED

The one on eBay is a bit of a mash-up. It has a couple of gold plated hardware bits, bit they have been added. The majority of the hardware is chromed. Also the headstock is not bound and black as the VII / Deluxe was also with gold machine-heads.

I think this post might cut off the right of the picture showing the headstock, if so check out the page links above.

The other difference is the internal block on the VII / Deluxe is such that the body is much more sturdy than the original VI Viking.

I'd say the eBay price is about as high as it should be for a VI
