Hi, I'm assuming that you are referring to the inner baffle, a light-weight thin aluminium spinning that provided an air gap to help cool the lantern. This was painted matt black, to avoid reflections internally, but over time, heat deterioration can make the paint adhesion very poor. strip it all off and repaint with a matt black spray, Halfords is ideal, after a coat of their primer. Don't bother with heat resisting, the normal variety is fine after the solvents burn off! Really!!
