Thanks for that Bob.I saved the ball from a skip and after the careful removal of many years cigarette smoke i can now see that it does have ,as you suspected pink and white mirrors.The ball itself appears to be closer to 13inch or 16 if you include the hook on top.
Above that is the rotator which is Egg shaped and stands 8inches high.I have cleaned a small section of this and it has come up as shinny as chrome.
The plate has 'Strand Electric' written in a circle with 'Strand' in the black section on the top. It then has the Ref no 6476 and Volts 200/250 punched on.
