Hi,

Has anyone actually figured out how to drive Mini 2 dimmer packs that are separated from their rack? Extensive googling reveals quite a few people asking the same question, but fairly vague answers and no reports of success.

I've built a simple op-amp based buffer amp with 10K in the output which happly winds the "C" pin up and down between about -2 and -14V, but the output, across a 500W load, remains at full mains. I've also tried just putting the 10K between the -14V and the pack; again, no joy.

When I remove the -14V supply from the pack, the light does go out, so I'm guessing the thyristors are probably good.

What on earth does it take to make these things wake up and take notice?
