A few days ago I happened to read this verse from the Tao To Ching. It reminded me of some of Swamiji's talks and of a passage from the Old Testament, and so many sources of spiritual wisdom.
Do you want to improve the world?
I don't think it can be done.
The world is sacred.
It cannot be improved.
If you tamper with it, you'll ruin it.
If you treat it like an object, you'll lose it.
There is a time for being ahead,
A time for being behind;
A time for being in motion,
A time for being at rest;
A time for being vigorous,
A time for being exhausted;
A time for being safe,
A time for being in danger.
Tao Te Ching 29
During this time when many are in danger, and leaders each evoke their god of conquest, may those who are suffering, fearful, angry, confused...feel the one God in many forms, who is love and compassion and who holds our inner being safe, no matter what happens.
Jayanti, thanks for writing about the situation in the world.
It is sad and death will occur. Each person who dies is a person first and then a citizen of a country. Mother alone knows why this is happening. All I can do is pray, for everyone and ask Mother to give me strength to face the future as it unfolds.
