Taken By The Bank

In a series created with "Sheriff's Wife" after the untimely death of Shirley Davis and her husband Sheriff Greg Davis was originally considered the primary suspect, the DA from the beginning said he was innocent regardless of what evidence was presented. As more and more young girls and women disappeared and rumors spread Birch Lake Savings Bank was experiencing a large number of people unable to meet their mortgage. Using the letter of the law and a crafty lawyer with clauses built into the mortgages the bank avoids normal foreclosures and takes the properties. With the bank president Tom Brunson's involvement with Sheriff Davis, a closed circle of people in the community have put the puzzle pieces together and are leaving Birch Lake Savings and taking their business elsewhere. As life continues the small community is divided into two entities one for the good of the people and the second promoting evil and corruption. So much so that as the world suffered through the 2008 crash, Birch Lake Savings was 95M in the black.

Life continues in Birch Lake where a select few live a wealthy lifestyle and the majority struggle to keep the lights on and food on the table. While Sheriff Davis and his tight webbed network including the DA, and several elected politicians from the local to national level believes he has something on everyone and is untouchable from any prosecution and continues his reign of terror.
