This is a wonderful action adventure script.

Logline:
After a failed mission, a time traveling operative gets trapped in
1983. Years later, her grandchildren discover her secret an stumble on a
quest to save humanity from a dismal future.

Synopsis:
In 2083, time traveling operatives, Quinn and Simon travel to
Chicago 1983 to thwart the assassination of Mayor Harold Washington.
Quinn and Simon fail. Mayor Washington dies. Simon and Quinn are
separated while attempting to capture the assassin. When Quinn catches
up to Simon and the assassin, she discovers the horrible truth. Simon is
the impetus behind the assassination. Simon kills the assassin and
attempts to kill Quinn before escaping into the future, trapping Quinn in
1983.
By the year, 2020, Mayor Washington’s death has sparked heavier tension
between the races. This tension, through the years, results in a shift in the
balance of political and economic power. White people are second hand
citizens. Quinn has struggled, for decades, to build a device capable of
stable time travel. In the meantime, she has lived a life. She has been
married, widowed, bore children and welcomed grandchildren. Her two
teenage granddaughters, Darcy and Helen, discover Quinn’s recently
completed time machine. They inadvertently activate it. Darcy, the
youngest, finds herself transported to 2083. Quinn and Helen ultimately
follow Darcy into the future. While searching to find Darcy, they discover
the future is a dismal war zone. Simon’s megalomania has brought the
planet to the brink of utter destruction.
Darcy, Helen, and Quinn are discovered and captured by Simon. He tries
to force Quinn to use her mathematical and engineering expertise to save
the world he has built. Quinn fixes Simon’s time machine long enough to
facilitate Darcy and Helen’s narrow escape. She is not so lucky.
Helen and Darcy escape 2083, finding themselves back in 1983.
Marooned in time, like their grandmother before them, the sister’s only
hope is to succeed on the mission where their grandmother failed. Can
they find Quinn, stop the assassination, and make their way home?
